Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission seeks an Environmental Services Associate to clean patient and public areas, stock supplies and maintain infection control. The role is part-time nights, about 20 hours weekly, with starting pay of $17.50 per hour. Benefits from day one and opportunities for career development are available.

Responsibilities include sanitation, trash removal, and ensuring clean, safe environments for patients and staff, with adherence to safety and infection-control guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to maintain equipment and clean areas safely.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills and keyboard use.
• Proficient with standard office software.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to interact with patients.
• Read and understand Safety Data Sheets and labels.
• Follow oral and written assignments and environmental duties.
• Healthcare environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned patient and public areas daily, including trash removal and surface sanitization.
• Stock paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in assigned areas.
• Demonstrates infection control knowledge and proper cleaning equipment use.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Utilize systems to track bed flow and use handheld devices for accuracy.
