Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a cleaning staff member responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of patient rooms and public areas. Tasks include trash removal, surface cleaning, bed-making, bathroom sanitation, and stocking supplies across nursing units and hospital facilities.

The role requires ability to read and follow simple instructions, basic arithmetic, and high school-level education. Hiring range is USD $19.10–$26.52 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic addition and subtraction.
• Ability to comply with basic oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient rooms: empties trash, wipes surfaces, cleans bed and furniture, cleans bathroom, and changes bed linens.
• Cleans other nursing unit areas and public areas: stations, conference rooms, restrooms, corridors, offices, kitchens, entrances.
• Responds to STAT cleaning requests.
• Performs floor care and carpet cleaning, window washing, curtain cleaning, and surface polishing.
