Job summary

Women & Infants Hospital is hiring for a cleaning and laundry role within the Environmental Services department. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, laundry processing, and ensuring sanitation in accordance with hospital standards.

The position requires basic education (eighth grade) with on-the-job training and English proficiency. Prior experience with cleaning equipment is preferred. This role is centralized in our Rhode Island facility.

Qualifications

• Eighth grade education or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the English language required.
• Three months on-the-job training is necessary.
• Experience with battery-powered, large area vacuums, carpet cleaning, liquid extraction, and wet/dry system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily, routine and service cleanings.
• Performs check-out and cycle cleanings.
• Complies with sanitation and safety regulations.
• Collects soiled laundry from various areas of the hospital and sorts according to type, condition and weight.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment, carts, laundry chutes, and sorting room for the hospital.
• Performs other job-related duties as requested.
