Job summary

ConcordHospital is seeking a hospital custodian to clean patient rooms, labs, offices, baths and hallways following approved procedures. The role requires reading labels, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to CARES values while delivering courteous service.

The position involves disinfecting surfaces, handling waste, and keeping storage areas organized. You will be responsible for completing training and performing duties as assigned in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• GED/High school preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write, and understand labels and instructions.
• Good customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes all required job specific training.
• Properly cleans and disinfects all surfaces. Follows procedures for germicidal usage, isolation room cleaning, baseboard cleaning, telephones, walls, doors and kicks plates, stainless steel surfaces and glass.
• Follows high/low dusting procedures (ceilings/vents, high dusting, damp dusting).
• Performs dry and wet mopping, vacuuming and baseboard cleaning.
• Cleans bathrooms including shower, tub, and commodes.
• Handles waste according to disposal procedures.
• Adheres to CARES behaviors (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Enthusiasm and Service) and customer service.
• Maintains storage areas and housekeeping cart.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
