Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore, MD is seeking a housekeeping aide to maintain sanitary and orderly patient areas under direct supervision. You will work as part of a team, greet patients and staff, and support safety protocols to protect patients and coworkers.

Responsibilities include assembling cleaning supplies, transporting carts, cleaning floors and rooms, handling linen changes, and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well under time constraints and to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks.
• Employee has knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.
• Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and applies the knowledge to meet age-specific needs if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; loads utility cart and transports to work areas.
• Cleans assigned areas by performing housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing.
• Prepares cleaning solutions according to label instructions and established guidelines.
• Performs routine discharge room cleaning and linens changes following protocols.
• Notifies team leader of needed maintenance repairs in assigned areas.
• Logs tasks on Interserv per policy and keeps equipment stored properly.
