Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking an Environmental Service Associate for a 6A-2:30PM shift in Towson, MD. The role involves maintaining sanitary and orderly hospital areas under supervision, stocking supplies, and performing routine cleaning tasks to support patient care and safety.

Responsibilities include routine discharge room cleaning, equipment handling, and logging tasks in Interserv. Competitive pay ranges from $15 to $20 per hour, with eligibility for full-time benefits and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Ability to work well under time constraints and to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks.
• Knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.
• Demonstrates competency in delivery of care and meets age-specific needs if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; loads utility cart and transports to work areas as instructed.
• Cleans assigned areas by performing housekeeping duties (cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing).
• Inspects area upon completion to ensure cleanliness.
• Prepares cleaning solutions according to labels.
• Performs routine discharge room cleaning and remakes beds with fresh linen.
• Notifies team leader of needed maintenance repairs.
• Cleans and stores equipment in porter closet or storage area.
• Logs on and off Interserv per GBMC policy.
