Emergency Medicine Physicians Needed in Thriving Southeast Metro!

Huntsville Hospital seeks Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our current staff of 70+ physicians. We operate a progressive 100+ bed Emergency Department and staff two emergency departments. The Main Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Cardiac Center, with a beautiful facility, excellent resources, and subspecialty backup, seeing approximately 75,000 patient visits annually. It has 91 beds plus 8 fast track beds, a 16-bed Observation Unit, and a separate OB ED staffed by our OB Hospitalist Team.

The Pediatric ED, located at the stand-alone Women and Children's Hospital, has 16 beds and 2 rapid assessment rooms, seeing around 36,000 patients per year with a 10% admission rate. Picking up shifts in this ER is not mandatory.

The Madison Hospital, approximately 12 years old, is 14 miles away and features a 26-bed ED serving about 50,000 patients annually with an 11% admission rate.

Our physicians typically work 14-15 nine-hour shifts per month, promoting an excellent work/life balance.

Teaching opportunities are available with 3rd/4th-year medical students from UAB and Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Residents at UAB-Huntsville. Huntsville Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and the Regional Referral Center for North Alabama and Southern Tennessee. It is Alabama's only Top 50 Heart Hospital by Truven Health Analytics and one of America's 50 Best Cardiac Surgery Programs by HealthGrades.

Huntsville is located in the fastest-growing major metropolitan area in Alabama, with the highest per capita income in the Southeast. It offers a vibrant, high-tech, multicultural community with excellent schools, dining, and entertainment options.
