Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate diet order information and ensures patients receive appropriate meals.
• Gathers patient food preferences and notes dietary restrictions.
• Assists with menu selection and modifies diets as prescribed.
• Delivers trays to patients and retrieves them from the units.
• Follows PPE and hygiene protocols; maintains sanitation.
• Stocks pantries with nourishments; follows FIFO methods.
• Assembles patient trays accurately; prepares standard and modified items.
• Operates kitchen utensils for weighing, mixing, and cooking.
• Prepares hot and cold foods; stores items per safety rules.
• Maintains sanitation and temperature logs per regulatory requirements.
• Sets up and serves food from counters and steam tables.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishware, equipment, and work stations.
• Removes trash; manages recycling and waste appropriately.
• Maintains collaborative relationships with peers to meet goals.
• May prepare specialized nutritional products as needed.
• May operate a cash register and handle payments.
