California Department of State Hospitals is hiring a Custodian I for the Metropolitan State Hospital in Los Angeles County. The role involves general housekeeping, cleaning offices and common areas, and maintaining a clean, safe environment under supervision.

Responsibilities include restroom cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, glass cleaning, trash disposal, and operating floor machines with safety practices. Flexible shifts and possible overtime may be required to meet hospital needs.

• Eligibility by permanent civil service status or being reachable on an employment list.

Responsabilidades

• Under supervision, performs custodial duties to keep assigned areas clean and orderly.
• May instruct or supervise individuals/patients as needed.
• Daily tasks include cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning glass doors and windows, emptying trash, and mopping floors.
• Wax and buff tile floors and operate floor machines, automatic scrubbers and buffing machines.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and safety practices; use custodial supplies and equipment.
• The incumbent may be required to work any shift and relocate within the hospital as needed.
