NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Cook to join our team. You will assist the Chef in preparing, seasoning, cooking and plating meals for patients, staff, cafeteria, and catered events using standardized recipes.

Responsibilities include planning schedules, coordinating with the Production Manager/Executive Chef on modified diets, procuring ingredients, and maintaining strict sanitation and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent from a formal technical school specializing in hotel or institutional cooking.
• 3+ years experience in cooking or food service.
• Ability to read and write fluent English.

Responsabilités

• Review menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of food for patients, cafeteria and events.
• Plan cooking schedules to ensure food is ready on time.
• Prepare, season, cook, and plate food following standardized recipes.
• Maintain sanitary standards and follow HACCP guidelines, including temperature logs.
• Assist in plating and lidding portions and support with ingredient procurement as needed.
• Support production manager and chef with dietary modifications and leftovers usage.

Connaissances

3+ years experience

Fluent English

Formation

High School diploma or equivalent

ServSafe Certification (preferred)

New York State Food Protection license (preferred)
