Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring for full-time and part-time COOK positions at the ChildrenCHospital of Pittsburgh, PA. Location: 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224. Requires 2 years cooking experience. Fixed pay rate: $17.50 per hour.

Monday–Friday with possible weekends; shifts vary. Benefits include comprehensive health and retirement options. Summary: Prepares food per guidelines and ensures quality service.

Qualifications

• 2 years of previous cooking experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery with correct portioning, temperatures, and presentation.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, stores or discards excess food per standards.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintains high standards of cleanliness.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
• Reports needed maintenance or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attends in-service and safety meetings.
• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Abides by all Company policies and procedures including safe knife handling, use of gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
