Job summary

Crossing Hurdles seeks a skilled medical coder to ensure precise ICD-10 coding for inpatient records and to review AI-generated notes against established documentation standards.

The role requires active AHIMA/AAPC certification, strong ICD-10 experience, and access to official coding books and E/M guidelines. You will work in a CDI-like capacity, ensuring coding integrity and accurate data entry into the EMR.

Qualifications

• Active certification in CCS, CIC, COC, RHIA, RHIT, or equivalent AHIMA/AAPC credential.
• Strong experience with ICD-10 coding.
• Access to up-to-date ICD-10, CPT coding books, and E/M guidelines.
• Currently employed in medical coding, clinical documentation improvement, or a related role.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to ensure accurate ICD-10 coding.
• Review clinical documentation for accuracy and coding integrity.
• Evaluate AI-generated notes against documentation standards.
• Code AI-generated information using ICD and CPT/HCPCS.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in diagnosis and procedure coding.

Requirements

• Active certification in CCS, CIC, COC, RHIA, RHIT, or other coding certification through AHIMA and AAPC.
• Strong relevant experience in ICD-10 coding.
• Access to up-to-date official ICD-10 and CPT coding books, as well as E&M guidelines.
• Currently working in medical coding, clinical documentation improvement, or a closely related documentation role.
