Job summary

North Shore Medical Center, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to perform cleaning, waste removal, and sanitation across hospital areas. You will operate cleaning equipment and adhere to infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment.

The role requires ability to move equipment and participate in department meetings, with emphasis on safety and cleanliness throughout patient and non-patient areas.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply them safely.
• Working knowledge of cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 0–1 year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties in alignment with infection control guidelines and schedules.
• Completes waste stream removal.
• Cleans and services assigned areas per procedures.
• Moves furniture, equipment and supplies within the Medical Center.
• Operates floor machines and buffers.
• Attends a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.
• Maintains clean, safe and sanitary patient and non-patient areas.
