Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta is seeking a Chaplain Resident to provide compassionate pastoral care and support to patients, families, and staff within the hospital. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to address spiritual needs and participate in ongoing education and clinical pastoral education opportunities.

The role includes on-call rotations at nights, holidays, and weekends, supporting staff and patients during critical times.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide spiritual care to patients and families.
• Eligibility for chaplain residency with ACPE pathways.
• Experience in hospital or clinical pastoral settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visits patients and families on assigned clinical areas and responds to referrals for pastoral care.
• Performs pastoral assessments and refers to clergy or counselors when needed.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and on-call rotations.
• Attends CPE seminars and other educational opportunities to enhance pastoral skills.
• Plans and conducts religious services and administers sacraments when appropriate.
