Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis seeks a Chaplain to provide pastoral care, assess spiritual needs, and collaborate with the medical team to support patients and families. The role includes facilitating workshops, building relationships with staff, and serving on-call shifts.

Candidates must have a Master of Divinity (or equivalent), CPE completion, and ordination or parish experience; oncology chaplain experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Responds to requests/referrals for spiritual/pastoral care in a timely fashion.
• Makes spiritual assessments and provides appropriate interventions.
• Participates with the clinical staff as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Plans/conducts workshops or in-service programs for staff/volunteers.
• Develops relationships with staff to provide support during stress/crisis.
• Provides liaison/educational services for clergy and community partners.
• Facilitates support groups for patients and families.
• Maintains on-call rotation for evening, night and weekend care.

Responsibilities

• Writes and conducts spiritual assessments and interventions as needed.
• Collaborates with hospital teams to integrate spiritual care into treatment plans.
• Leads workshops and in-service sessions for staff and volunteers.
• Provides emotional support during high-stress periods and crises.
• Develops relationships with community clergy and volunteers for outreach.
• Facilitates patient/family support groups and chaplaincy services on-site.
