Requires a Master of Divinity, 4 units of CPE, and ecclesiastical endorsement. 1 year hospital chaplain experience preferred; position is grant-funded and full-time at Main Campus Jackson.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Divinity from an accredited association of Theological School.
• 4 units of clinical pastoral education.
• One year of hospital chaplain experience preferred (not substitutable for education).
• Ecclesiastical endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Provides counseling and other spiritual education activities for employees, students, and patients.
• Supports end-of-life care for patients by offering pastoral support and counseling to patients and families.
• Administers religious rites or ordinances; prepares and delivers spiritual care services.
• Studies, interprets, and teaches religious laws, doctrines, and/or traditions.
• Promotes ethical behavior within the Medical Center and provides consultation on ethical behavior.
• Documents spiritual counseling for patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
