Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center is hiring a Nursing Attendant for the Evening shift, with an 3 PM-11:30 PM schedule and ALTERNATE WEEKENDS. The role supports patient-focused care by assisting with daily activities, hygiene, mobility, and comfort while maintaining a safe environment.

Responsibilities include vital signs, transporting patients, and collaborating with R.N. and other staff to ensure quality care. High School diploma or equivalent, and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Effective English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Graduate of State Certified Program or 1 year clinical experience as nursing student/foreign graduate nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (eating, bathing, ambulating).
• Meet hygiene and grooming needs of patients.
• Assist in mobility and transfers; use devices as needed.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort; observe and report changes.
• Obtain and document vital signs as directed; notify RN of variations.
• Communicate with RN and unit staff; ensure patient privacy.
