Job summary

Amare in Wood River, IL is seeking a Recovery Coach to provide recovery support services to individuals overcoming substance use disorders at our Wood River office. You will conduct assessments, offer peer mentoring, employment coaching, and facilitate warm handoffs to residential treatment and medical stabilization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of lived recovery experience (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to obtain CPRS certification and complete CEUs.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care, crisis prevention, and suicide prevention.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to identify recovery barriers and needs.
• Employment coaching and vocational resources for participants.
• Provide one-on-one peer mentoring and recovery coaching.
• Assist participants in creating and maintaining recovery management plans.
• Connect participants to clinical services and professionals when needed.
• Engage in community outreach and advocacy for unhoused individuals.
• Promote recovery capital and deliver trauma-informed care.
