Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group invites applications for a Hospital and EMU Rounder at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD. You will provide inpatient care for hospitalized adults and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
• Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
• Inpatient hospital medicine expertise and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary rounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized adult patients, including admissions, daily multidisciplinary rounds, care coordination, and discharge planning.
• Coordinate care with consulting services, nursing, case management, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and ancillary teams to optimize patient outcomes and transitions.
• Assess the ongoing appropriateness of hospitalization and identify opportunities for discharge or transition to alternative care settings.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, length of stay, readmission reduction, utilization management, and operational excellence.
• Utilize the electronic medical record to document, communicate, and support high-quality, patient-centered care within a Hospital Medicine team.

What You Can Expect:

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized adult patients, including admissions, daily multidisciplinary rounds, care coordination, and discharge planning.
• Coordinate care with consulting services, nursing, case management, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and ancillary teams to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate timely transitions of care.
• Assess the ongoing appropriateness of hospitalization and proactively identify opportunities for discharge or transition to alternative care settings, including Advanced Care at Home (ACAH), skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation, or outpatient management when clinically appropriate.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, length of stay, readmission reduction, utilization management, and operational excellence.
• Utilize the electronic medical record efficiently to ensure accurate documentation, effective communication, and high-quality, patient-centered care within a collaborative Hospital Medicine team.
• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia

The starting annual salary for this position is $280,000 which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
