Hospital and Community Relations Coordinator - Rio Grande Valley (Texas)

This mission centered position is responsible for coordinating activities and programs to ensure partnering and allied organizations in the RGV community service area of San Antonio Eye Bank, carry out a streamlined and effective cornea/eye donation process, supports outreach endeavors maximizing the opportunity for donation to occur, and is respectful and sensitive to the needs of donor families.

In support of this goal, we are looking for a Hospital and Community Relations Coordinator to join our San Antonio team in the Rio Grande Valley service area .

What does the Hospital and Community Relations Coordinator do ?

The Hospital and Community Relations Coordinator collaborates with assigned hospitals to ensure an effective referral system that maximizes donation opportunities, cultivates connections with area funeral homes and coordinates community outreach/relations efforts within San Antonio Eye Bank’s Rio Grande Valley service area. Some of this role’s responsibilities include conducting educational programs and staff development to increase awareness and facilitation in the cornea/eye donation process , m aintain ing a routine presence in assigned hospitals , p rovid ing referral and donor statistical reporting, as well as maintaining records of hospital champions and key contacts .

What else should I know about this position?

This is a full-time, hourly position, reporting to our D irector of Partner Relations & Strategic Communications . This position is primarily field work in the RGV area with remote locational office support as needed.

What are you looking for in the ideal candidate ?

To be successful as a Hospital and Community Relations Coordinator , the ideal candidate should po ssess :

An Associate of Arts degree with 2 years’ experience in healthcare, public education, communications or organ, eye and tissue donation field OR combination of relevant experience and education.

Experience at successfully building and maintaining stakeholder/partner-based relationships.

A collaborative and respectful manner .

Ability to meet driving record requirements and have reliable transportation.

Proven self-direction, motivation, and initiative to solve problems independently.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of constituents including public speaking and facilitation skills.

Proficiency with Windows operating system, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook), and database programs.

Ability to coordinate projects, organize a variety of tasks, manage multiple and occasionally conflicting priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines and accurately attend to details.

Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

What compensation and benefits do you offer? The minimum wage for this position is $ 19.00 hourly and the maximum wage is $21.00 hourly . Individual compensation will vary within this range based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position.
