Job summary

Envision Hospice is seeking a Weekend Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate hospice care across Kitsap County, including private homes and facilities. You will focus on symptom management, timely response to urgent needs, and family support.

The role requires Washington RN license, BLS, a valid driver's license, and at least 1 year hospice/home health experience, with 2–3 years in healthcare overall. Weekend hours and on-call coverage are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

  • Current, active Washington State RN license in good standing.
  • Active BLS certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience in hospice or home health preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of healthcare related experience required.
  • Proficient with EMR systems and healthcare technologies.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and work independently within scope of practice.
  • Adaptable to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality hospice care, focusing on pain and symptom management for patients.
  • Respond promptly to urgent calls, assess situations, and deliver appropriate interventions as needed.
  • Administer and adjust medications while monitoring effectiveness to ensure patient comfort.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and address urgent patient needs.
  • Support, educate, and guide families, offering reassurance throughout the patient’s care journey.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care, assessments, and interventions.
  • Manage emergencies and coordinate with the on-call team for additional support when necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to hospice care protocols.

We are seeking a dedicated Hospice Registered Nurse to provide weekend hospice care for patients in Kitsap Counties. Care is delivered across a variety of settings, including private homes, adult family homes, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities. This position includes weekend responsibilities to ensure essential care and support for patients and families. The RN will focus on responding to urgent or emergency needs, managing symptoms, and promoting the comfort and well-being of patients.

Training requirement

Must be available to complete training Monday-Fri, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, for a minimum of two full weeks.
