Job summary

Star Hospice, part of the LHC Group and member of the Optum family, seeks a Volunteer Manager to lead hospice volunteers, coordinate recruitment and training, and ensure regulatory compliance while coordinating with patients and families.

The role focuses on organizing assignments, maintaining care plan documentation, and supporting program standards within a post-acute care environment.

Qualifications

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite and ability to learn multiple applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment, training, ongoing education, and assignments for Hospice Volunteers
• Implement actions to ensure program standards meet regulatory or certification bodies and company pillars
• Meet with patients, caregivers, families, and hospice team to coordinate patient care-related volunteer assignments
• Assign volunteers to appropriate activities, monitor reports from volunteers and alert supervisor on urgent items
• Maintain accurate and timely volunteer activity care plan documentation in the electronic medical record system in compliance with federal and state standards and regulations
