Job summary

Adoration Health in Cleveland, MS, seeks a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to build and guide a compassionate volunteer program for hospice services. You will recruit, train, and support volunteers, aligning services with patient and family needs in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

The role emphasizes program development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensuring regulatory compliance while maintaining a patient- and family-centered approach to end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Prior experience in hospice and/or volunteer program management preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel.
• Skill in planning and delivering volunteer training and orientation programs.
• Ability to assess patient and family needs for volunteer services.
• Skill in supervising and evaluating volunteer performance.
• Ability to coordinate support and educational meetings.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements related to hospice services.
• Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, community groups, and individuals.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to contribute to budget planning and program development.
• Commitment to quality improvement and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage volunteer training and orientation programs.
• Recruit, educate, and select volunteers through multiple annual sessions.
• Assess patient and family needs to match appropriate volunteer services.
• Supervise, support, and evaluate volunteers regularly.
• Review and update the volunteer program as needed.
• Organize volunteer support and education meetings.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Promote hospice volunteer services to individuals and community groups.
• Assist with budget planning for volunteer program development.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
