Job summary

Reserve Care (formerly Hospice of the Western Reserve) is seeking a chaplain/spiritual care professional to lead spiritual care within a transdisciplinary team in Ohio. You will assess spiritual needs, guide care planning, and coordinate with community clergy and volunteers.

The role emphasizes addressing terminal illness, bereavement, and ethical-religious aspects, with optional Master of Divinity and four CPE units as qualifications. A collaborative, patient-centered environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity preferred or graduation from an accredited four-year college with related experience in counseling or spiritual care.
• Four completed units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent
• Experience with terminally ill patients and grief counseling preferred
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a transdisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission of Reserve Care within the transdisciplinary team including Spiritual Care Volunteers and patients/families.
• Assess spiritual needs and develop care goals with patients and family.
• Link patients with community clergy or pastoral care visitors; coordinate volunteers and supervision.
• Act as liaison between volunteers, clergy and the transdisciplinary team.
• Assist with ethics/religious-spiritual issues related to terminal illness and bereavement.
• Participate in meetings with volunteers to discuss interventions and educational needs.
• Assist with orientation, training and supervision of volunteers.
