Job description

Join our dedicated team at Hospice of the Piedmont as a full-time Hospice Registered Nurse to manage cases and provide consistent, quality patient care. Hospice of the Piedmont is a life-changing, mission-driven organization offering flexibility and a team-based work environment with a supportive management team. This position primarily covers but is not limited to northwestern Albermarle, Augusta, Greene, and Madison counties.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Provide a nursing evaluation visit to new admissions.
Regularly re-evaluate patient needs.
Consult with the patient’s physician.
Complete bedside documentation using the EMR.
Coordinate and manage services offered by health team members.
Help ensure the final chapter of your patient’s life is one of quality, compassion, and dignity.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited nursing school and a valid license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Two years of relevant nursing experience is preferred.
Driver’s license, personal automobile, and current automobile liability insurance

Typical Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Drive long distances to homes and facilities
The job requires regular use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls, and involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, walking, and climbing steps. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Communication by phone, writing, speaking; Regular use of computer screen and keyboarding are required
Lifting to 20 pounds, push up to 200 pounds in a wheelchair.
General fast-paced work environment
Physical and emotional health necessary for the accomplishment of duties
