To provide nursing care to terminally ill Hospice patients as needed. To assist and support families in home care and bereavement. To collaborate with the Hospice team in delivering care.
Educational/Degree: Graduate from an accredited nursing school
Training/Licensure: Current RN license in the state
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to work independently, make quick and accurate judgments, supervise appropriately, respond to crises outside hospital settings, adapt to diverse social, racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds, and complete Hospice training.
Experience: Minimum 2 years as a registered nurse preferred; recent active patient contact within past three years preferred.
Physical Requirements: Significant physical effort including kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, climbing, walking, exposure to environmental changes, and assisting with patient transfers (up to 100 pounds). Must have functional senses or adaptive devices and provide evidence of annual TB testing.
Mental Requirements: Ability to work independently, assess situations, make judgments, handle stress, and maintain emotional stability. Must be flexible, innovative, and interpersonal skills essential.
Working Conditions: Exposure to odors, blood, body fluids, hazardous materials, and environmental elements.
Transportation: Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable vehicle.
