Caris HealthCare in Nashville is seeking an RN Assistant Director of Nursing for Hospice to support the Director of Nursing in coordinating patient/family care and ensuring seamless communication among care teams.

The role focuses on supervising care coordination, admissions, staff scheduling, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards, with a compensation range of $81,000–$90,000 per year depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of operation.
• One year of hospice, palliative care, oncology, or home health experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hospice program objectives, framework, organization, and payer programs (Medicare, Medicaid) preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge/skill.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of patient care aspects of the Hospice Program and the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
• Ensure referral/admission processes meet Caris HealthCare’s customer service standards.
• Assist with assignment and scheduling of patient care staff.
• Assist with supervision of reviews of patient records, employee visits, and daily activity reports to ensure conformance with standards and licensure.
• Check documentation for accuracy and consistency with payor requirements and policy.
• Assist with arranging hospice and supportive services.
• Assist with recruitment, hires, and directing the training of field staff.
• Responsible for compliance with Caris safety and disaster plans; ensure employees are trained on occupational exposure.
• Assist to handle staff, physicians, patient, inter-departmental complaints, and problems with timely follow-up.
