Job summary

Absolute Hospice is seeking an experienced Music Therapist to join our team as a PRN clinician. You will assess patients, provide music therapy, document care, and educate staff and families about music therapies while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

A bachelor’s degree in music therapy with MT-BC licensure and hospice experience are required; a master’s degree is preferred. The role supports patient-centered end-of-life care and bereavement services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy required.
• MT-BC licensure in the state required.
• Minimum 2 years of music therapy experience; hospice experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess music therapy needs of patients and provide services to patients and families.
• Consult with interdisciplinary team about referrals and interventions.
• Document all care in the patient’s clinical record per requirements.
• Educate staff and community about music therapy and its use with hospice patients.
• Assist with support groups and bereavement follow-up as appropriate.
• Serve as educational resource to staff, care partners and community.
• Support and promote hospice mission and participate in quality improvement.
