Job summary

St. Croix Hospice is dedicated to compassionate end-of-life care, guiding patients and families with dignity and respect. The Music Therapist will work within a plan of care to bring comfort and emotional support through music-based interventions.

Responsibilities include assessments, documenting sessions, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Autonomy and strong patient connections are essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with bachelor's degree in music therapy.
• One of the following: MT-BT, National Music Therapy Registry, American Music Therapy Association, or another national organization that certifies, registers, or accredits Music Therapists.
• Ability to pass background, consumer report, and drug test.
• Provide music therapy per plan of care; assess patients and determine effectiveness.
• Implement interventions to relieve symptoms and support emotional, physical, and spiritual comfort.
• Use techniques such as relaxation, lyric analysis, songwriting, and life review; document sessions promptly.
• Educate team, maintain HIPAA compliance, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings and quality improvement.
