Overview
Our client is seeking a compassionate Hospice Music Therapist to provide professional music therapy to patients in accordance with company protocols. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree, current Board certification, and relevant experience in geriatric and end-of-life/terminal illness healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices.
2. Effectively inform and educate our patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy.
3. Establish therapy objectives as part of the patient assessment.
4. Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid in the planning of subsequent sessions.
5. Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening.
6. Encourage patients to take part in the session and support them by responding musically and improvising with music as a reaction to what the client is communicating to give comfort during the last stages of life.
7. Support the patient's creative development and facilitate positive changes in their behavior and well-being.
