Job summary

Qualifications

License to practice medicine in the state where the program operates.
Board certification in internal medicine, oncology, or a related field.
Membership in good standing on the medical staff of an accredited hospital.

Responsibilities

Quality of clinical care: ensure evaluation and certification of terminal prognosis.
Oversee initial, comprehensive, and ongoing plans of care and documentation accuracy.
Educate physicians and others about the hospice program's benefits.
Participate in QI functions, ethics committee, and interdisciplinary groups.
Supervise team physicians and maintain 24/7 on-call physician coverage.
