AccentCare is seeking a Part-time Hospice Medical Director to lead clinical operations in San Bernardino, CA. This hybrid role involves medical leadership, care planning, mentorship for hospice physicians, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) in the state(s) of practice, with training or experience in caring for chronically or terminally ill patients.
  • Maintains active DEA license.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong understanding of primary medical care principles.
  • Working knowledge of hospice and palliative care, including pain and symptom management.
  • Familiarity with hospice regulations and Medicare requirements.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Attending Physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and providers.
  • Ability to manage complex clinical and ethical situations in end-of-life care.
  • Experience with oversight of clinical programs.
  • (Preferred) Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
  • (Preferred) Ten or more years of clinical experience
  • (Preferred) Five or more years in a medical director or other administrator role

  • Participate in professional, educational, and community activities that further the organization's mission.
  • Provide direct patient care and clinical consultation as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of organizational objectives.

AccentCare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Hospice Medical Director ready to promote excellence in patient care through active participation in care planning, quality improvement, physician mentorship, and staff education. In addition to internal clinical leadership, the Hospice Medical Director serves as a key ambassador for the hospice program by building relationships with community physicians, hospitals, long‑term care facilities, and healthcare organizations. Through education, consultation, and advocacy for hospice and palliative care, the Medical Director advances the organization's mission of providing comfort, dignity, and expert care to patients and families facing life‑limiting illness.
