Job summary

VIA Health Partners' Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC hires a dedicated Registered Nurse for hospice care. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to implement and update the plan of care, providing compassionate, patient-centered support on three 12-hour shifts per week.

The role requires a nursing diploma/associate degree, NC RN license, CPR, and at least one year of life-limiting illness experience; CHPN preferred. Benefits include generous PTO, retirement match, and CHPN advancement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associates Degree in nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current, active NC RN license; CPR current; CHPN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of direct patient care with life-limiting illnesses (hospice/palliative care, geriatrics, oncology, etc.).
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plan of care for IPU patients with interdisciplinary team.
• Serve as the RN member on designated shift coordinating care across disciplines.
• Coordinate with related disciplines to ensure professional service delivery.

Position Summary

As a Nurse at our Hospice Houses, you will remain up-to-date on the plan of care for all IPU patients by working with an interdisciplinary team to anticipate and meet patient needs. You will serve as the RN member for the designated shift of interdisciplinary teams to meet specific plan of care goals and coordinate closely with related disciplines to ensure professional service delivery. This position will work 72 hours per pay period (3, 12-hour shifts per week).

Qualifications / Position Requirements

• A Diploma or Associates Degree in nursing required; Bachelor Degree preferred.
• Current, active, and unrestricted NC license as Registered Nurse (RN). Current CPR required; CHPN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year related experience in direct care of patients with life limiting illnesses. Related experience may include hospice and palliative care, family medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, oncology, home health care, medical surgical.
• Computer proficiency required.
