Job summary

Tidewell Hospice in southwest Florida is seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide to assist patients with basic personal care and daily activities within the Manatee/Sarasota county area.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8a–5p. Florida CNA certification and CPR are required; hospice or home health experience is preferred. You will support compassionate, dignified care aligned with Empath Health's mission.

Qualifications

• Florida State Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• One year of recent experience in hospice, home health or acute-care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Overall care of the patient, from basic personal care like taking vital signs and bathing to household tasks that assist the primary caregiver.
• Educating the patient and primary caregiver about personal care, patient positioning and daily living.
• Supports and carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values on a consistent basis.
• Performs only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care) by a health professional employee.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.

What You\'ll Need:
