Job summary

AccentCare in Washington, DC is seeking an Executive Director, Hospice to lead clinical and operational excellence in the Washington DC area.

This full-time, on-site role offers a salary range of $145,000 to $165,000 plus bonus, with offer based on years of experience. You will ensure regulatory compliance, financial oversight, and strategic growth in hospice services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or leadership experience in healthcare preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.
• Meet the regulations and requirements of the state in which the program provides services.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hospice follows all applicable Federal, State and Local laws, including regulatory compliance.
• Submit and maintain reports to Federal, State, accreditation, and Local departments.
• Maintain accreditation and keep survey readiness.
• Provide leadership to support growth via relationship expansion with Business Development teams.
• Oversee program site financial performance and controllable costs.
• Participate in annual budget development for the site.
• Organize and manage hospice resources for patient care and family support.
• Manage day-to-day hospice operations and care coordination.

• Bachelors Degree and/or leadership experience, in a healthcare setting preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of computer programs, especially Microsoft Office Suite products and EMR systems
• Meet the regulations and requirements of the state in which the program provides services.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure hospice follows all applicable Federal, State and Local laws, including;
• Compliance, maintenance and submission of all required reports and records to Federal, State, accreditation, and Local regulatory departments
• Maintaining accreditation, when applicable
• Maintaining a state of survey readiness
• Provide leadership and oversight to support growth through strategic implementation of relationship expansion plans in collaboration with the Business Development teams
• Manage overall financial performance of the program site which includes oversight of all controllable costs
• Participate in annual development of the program site's budget
• Organizes, manages, and administers hospice resources to provide hospice care and services to patients, families, and caregivers necessary for the palliation and management of the terminal illness and related conditions
• Is responsible for the day-to-day hospice operations
• Ensure the hospice offers a coordinated plan of care for all patients/families while maintaining overall management of care
• Ensures care provided optimizes the patient and family's comfort and dignity
• Ensures care provided is consistent with patient and family needs and goals, with the patient's needs and goals as a priority
