Summary

Serves as a liaison between the organization and the local community. Responsible for the promotion and visibility of its programs by building and maintaining strong relationships with community partners and presence through local events and programs within the community.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. Builds and maintains professional relationships with all referral sources, including hospitals, physician and surgeon practices, nursing homes, hospital case managers, discharge planners, assisted living facilities, and other appropriate referral sources.
  2. Ensures compliance with all state, federal, and local regulatory requirements.
  3. Understands the benefits of hospice care to both professional referral sources and consumers.
  4. Educates the community about hospice services and Good Samaritan Society.
  5. Interacts daily with professionals in the health care industry which include, Physicians, Discharge planners, Medical Social Workers, Case Managers, and Skilled nurses.
  6. Conducts outside sales calls to existing and potential referral sources within an established territory.
  7. Promotes Good Samaritan Society's programs and services to medical professional and civic and community related organizations.
  8. Attends shows & fairs to generate business and establish professional relationships.

When necessary, serves as a representative on local boards. Must be comfortable with regular face-to-face communication.

Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills required. Must be organized. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Certain events will require working time on the weekends and evenings.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or other related discipline preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2 years experience in hospice marketing/liaison work.
  3. Current and valid state driver’s license.
  4. Proof of auto insurance.
  5. Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Area of focus in marketing, public relations, or communications preferred.
  6. Experience working within community relations/public affairs and event coordinator is preferred.
  7. Depending on location, may require current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.
