Responsibilities

Our Hospice Nursing Aides assist with personal care routines such as changing bedding and clothing, bathing hospice patients, and maintaining hygiene (brushing teeth, washing hair, keeping wound dressings clean and dry). They may also instruct family members on caring for their terminally ill relatives and regularly consult with supervising registered nurses regarding patient progress and family needs.

Qualifications

Must meet one of the following:

• Minimum of 1 year full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility)
• 1 year of recent experience (within last 5 years) in home health or hospice care
• Completed a federally and state-regulated training and competency evaluation program
• Registered and in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment

Must possess a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Additionally, candidates should have the ability to recognize patient needs, maintain good relationships, and effectively communicate observations to supervisors.
