Job summary

Enhabit Home Health & Hospice in Illinois is seeking Hospice Nursing Aides to assist with personal care for terminally ill patients at home. You will support daily routines and coordinate with the care team.

Responsibilities

• Assist hospice patients with personal care tasks, including changing bedding, dressing, bathing, and maintaining hygiene routines
• Support families by instructing them on basic health-care routines for home care
• Consult regularly with supervising RNs to keep the team informed of patient progression and family needs

Responsibilities

Our Hospice Nursing Aides assist with various personal care issues including changing bedding, changing clothing, bathing hospice patients, and helping with hygienic routines such as brushing teeth, washing hair and keeping wound dressings clean and dry. Our Hospice Nursing Aides may assist patients' family members in caring for their terminally ill relatives by instructing them on how to go about performing basic health-care routines. Nursing Aides consult on a regular basis with their supervising registered nurses in terms of keeping hospice team members apprised of our patients' progression and the families' needs.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following requirements. 1) have a minimum of one year full time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility); 2) have one year experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home health or hospice setting.
• Must be registered and listed in good standing on the nurse aide registry in the state of employment.
• Must have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.
