Job summary
Enhabit Home Health & Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Nursing Aide to support patients at home, helping with daily living tasks and hygiene, and ensuring comfort in end-of-life care.
You will work under RNs, collaborating with families to understand needs, monitor patient progression, and maintain safe, dignified care in a supportive team environment.
Qualifications
- 1 year full-time direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility).
- 1 year direct client care in a home health or hospice setting within last five years.
- Must be registered and listed in good standing on the nurse aide registry in the state of employment.
- Must have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care tasks (bedding, bathing, hygiene) for hospice patients.
- Support families in caring for terminally ill relatives and provide instruction as needed.
- Consult regularly with supervising RNs to update on patient progression and family needs.

Our Hospice Nursing Aides assist with various personal care issues including changing bedding, changing clothing, bathing hospice patients, and helping with hygienic routines such as brushing teeth, washing hair and keeping wound dressings clean and dry. Our Hospice Nursing Aides may assist patients' family members in caring for their terminally ill relatives by instructing them on how to go about performing basic health-care routines. Nursing Aides consult on a regular basis with their supervising registered nurses in terms of keeping hospice team members apprised of our patients’ progression and the families’ needs.
- Must meet one of the following requirements. 1) have a minimum of one year full time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility); 2) have one year experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home health or hospice setting.
- Must be registered and listed in good standing on the nurse aide registry in the state of employment.
- Must have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.
- May demonstrate an active willingness to learn the required skills in lieu of existing technology skills.
- Must possess a valid state driver license
- Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law
- Must maintain dependable transportation in good working condition
- Must be able to safely drive an automobile in all types of weather conditions
- Must complete training, competency evaluation in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Must possess CPR certification
