Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring CNA to provide personal care and ADL assistance for patients in their homes in North Pinellas County.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday 8am–5pm with a focus on compassionate end-of-life care and supporting patients and families. Valid Florida CNA certification and driver’s license required, plus reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
• For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion.
• Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file.

Responsibilities

• The provision of hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Assisting patients with taking medications that are ordinarily self-administered and have been pre-poured as designated in the Plan of Care.
• Hospice Aides must report changes in the patient's medical, nursing, rehabilitative, and social needs to a registered nurse, as the changes relate to the plan of care.
• Hospice Aide must document the changes and to whom they were reported to.
• Following a patient’s death collaborates with primary RN/Counselor and participates as needed in closure contact with family/caregivers.

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated CNA to provide personal care and tasks related to the activities of daily living for patients in their homes in North Pinellas County.
