Day City Hospice in Dayton, OH is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide (CNA) to provide personal care and supportive services to patients and families. The role emphasizes safety, comfort, and dignity, with a focus on timely, individualized care and collaboration with the care team.

You will assist with daily activities, meals, and essential monitoring, while maintaining professionalism and empathy in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Must hold STNA/CNA certification as required by the state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Listed on the state nurse aide registry with a clear record and eligible to provide patient care.
• Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services promptly and compassionately based on patient assignments and individual needs.
• Ensure patient safety and properly utilize equipment such as oxygen, side rails, foot stools, and other assistive devices.
• Assist with bathing, oral hygiene, shampoos, back rubs, and changing bed linens as assigned.
• Assist patients with dressing and undressing.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, including grocery shopping when assigned.
• Assist patients with feeding as needed.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure as ordered and within demonstrated competency.
• Observe and provide appropriate skin care to help prevent breakdown and maintain patient comfort.
