Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Per Diem Chaplain/Spiritual Caregiver to provide spiritual care to Hospice patients and their families in Alabama. Primary responsibilities include supporting patients of diverse backgrounds, guiding spiritual conversations, and collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team in IDG meetings.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to faith traditions, and the ability to connect with community religious leaders when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or Bachelor's degree in theology, divinity, pastoral care, philosophy, religion or related discipline
• 2+ years of experience in a health care setting and/or related pastoral experience
• Endorsement or acceptable language in accordance with the applicant's spiritual/faith tradition
• Good standing with spiritual/faith group with no ethical charges current or pending
• Current driver's license and access to dependable transportation

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to Hospice patients and their families
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for persons of diverse backgrounds
• Lead spiritual conversations when appropriate and respect patient beliefs
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team and contribute to IDG discussions
• Provide spiritual and emotional support to Hospice staff when requested
