Job summary

Crescent Hospice is seeking a Full Time Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families in Columbia and Orangeburg. This role sits on the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to honor all faiths and beliefs while guiding end-of-life care with dignity and compassion.

The ideal candidate has seminary training (BD/MDiv or equivalent) and experience in hospice or healthcare settings, with a strong emphasis on grief support and spiritual counseling.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited seminary or theology program (BD/MDiv or equivalent) or related certification.
• Minimum one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred.
• Comfortable working in interfaith settings and with diverse beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Assess spiritual and emotional needs of patients and families as part of the care plan.
• Provide spiritual counseling and guidance for individuals and families of all faiths.
• Offer grief and bereavement support throughout the hospice journey.
• Collaborate with the Program Director and care team to coordinate spiritual care.
• Communicate effectively with staff and community partners to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation per regulatory standards and agency policies.
