Job summary

Grace Hospice Minneapolis is seeking a compassionate Hospice Chaplain to join our interdisciplinary care team. You will provide individualized spiritual and emotional support to patients and families based on their beliefs, values and wishes, building meaningful connections and offering comforting presence throughout the hospice journey.

You’ll collaborate with nurses, physicians and social workers, complete spiritual assessments, contribute to care plans, and provide funeral or memorial support

Qualifications

  • Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited seminary or school of theology.
  • Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required.
  • Current ecclesiastical endorsement.
  • Board certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting individuals and families through serious illness, death, dying, grief or loss.
  • Ability to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental listening presence.
  • Respect for different cultures, traditions, beliefs and values.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to creatively connect with individuals experiencing Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of cognitive decline.

Responsibilities

  • Support Grace Hospice staff through presence, conversation, prayer, devotions or memorial reflections as appropriate.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain communication with the Chaplain team and supervisor.

Pay Range: $30.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience

As a Hospice Chaplain, you’ll provide individualized spiritual and emotional support to patients and families based on their beliefs, values and wishes. You’ll build meaningful connections, offer a comforting presence, and help patients and loved ones navigate the spiritual and emotional aspects of the hospice journey.

You’ll also collaborate with nurses, physicians, social workers, hospice aides and other professionals who share a commitment to providing care with kindness, dignity and respect.
