Responsibilities of a Hospice Aide/CNA

• Report to the Administrator or Patient Care Manager and work under RN supervision
• Assist with personal hygiene, environment safety, and light meals
• Support patient mobility and use of assistive devices
• Perform light housekeeping and certain treatments as ordered
• Engage patients in activities to promote mental alertness
• Provide emotional support and report changes to the team
• Demonstrate infection control and document visits accurately
• Participate in meetings and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Compassionate, empathetic nature
• Ability to provide care in a home setting
• Flexibility and composure in crisis situations
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
• Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred
• Additional experience in hospital or emergency settings beneficial
• Valid driver’s license and CPR certification
