Responsibilities of a Hospice Aide / Certified Nursing Assistant:
- Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager and function under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, ambulation, and light housekeeping.
- Assist with light meals and feeding as needed.
- Support patient safety and comfort, including use of mobility aids.
- Provide emotional and psychological support, promote mental alertness, and report changes in patient condition.
- Practice infection control and document visits accurately.
- Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Compassionate, kind, and empathetic nature.
- Comfortable providing care in a home setting.
- Flexibility and composure in crisis situations.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred.
- Current driver’s license, automobile insurance, and CPR certification.
