Responsibilities
As a Hospice Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant, your duties include:
- Reporting to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager and working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Clinical Supervisor.
- Helping patients maintain good personal hygiene.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Preparing and serving light meals.
- Assisting with feeding when needed.
- Assisting with ambulation and safe use of mobility aids.
- Performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Assisting with treatments as ordered and permissible by state regulations.
- Encouraging mental alertness through engaging activities.
- Providing emotional and psychological support.
- Reporting changes in patient condition or home situation.
- Demonstrating basic care techniques to caregivers.
- Practicing infection control and standard precautions.
- Accurate documentation and participation in meetings and quality activities.
Candidate Profile
Requirements:
- Compassionate, kind, and empathetic nature.
- Comfortable providing care in patients' homes.
- Flexible and composed in crisis situations.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred.
- Additional experience in hospital or emergency settings beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
