Job summary

Gentiva Hospice in Ferry Pass, FL is seeking a dependable Hospice Aide/CNA to provide direct personal care and emotional support to patients in homes, assisted living facilities, or inpatient units.

Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, mobility, meals, observation of changes, and timely documentation, while maintaining infection control and safety protocols. A CPR-certified CNA with a valid Florida license and reliable transportation is preferred.

Qualifications

Active CNA license in the state of employment is required.
Current CPR certification is required.
Driver's license and a reliable vehicle with insurance.
Six months of direct patient care experience.
Ability to work in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments.
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and ability to handle emotional situations.
Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
Support safe mobility using walkers or wheelchairs.
Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
Observe and report changes in the patient's condition to the care team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits.
Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
Practice infection control and follow safety protocols at all times.
