Job summary

ExcelaCare Hospice in Texas is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to support patients at the bedside, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity while coordinating with licensed nursing staff. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, document changes, and help maintain a clean, safe patient environment.

Strong communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team is essential.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of Nursing Assistant course and state certification.
One year of experience in a comparable role.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
Provide mobility assistance, including help with walking, transferring, and positioning.
Ensure patient comfort by adjusting beds, turning patients, and providing adequate hydration and nourishment.
Measure and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing staff.
Assist with basic medical procedures under supervision of licensed staff.
Collect specimens for lab tests as directed.
Monitor and document patient condition and care provided in medical records.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized patient environment.
