Job summary

Arc Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a Full-time Hospice Aide to serve patients in and around Corsicana as part of the Hand in Hand program. Workweek is Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with potential for weekend/evening coverage to support patients at home and in facilities.

The Hospice Aide provides personal care and comfort, reporting changes to the supervising RN and supporting families with dignity and empathy.

Qualifications

Must hold active CNA certification with 75+ hours and supervised clinical experience.
CPR certification required.
Ability to read care instructions and document care accurately.
Understanding hospice philosophy and terminally ill needs.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care).
Assist with ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and ROM as instructed.
Observe and report changes to supervising nurse.
Assist with meals, feeding and hydration as per care plan.
Provide companionship, emotional support and socialization.
Take and record vital signs if trained and assigned by the nurse.
Document care per agency procedures and timelines.
Follow infection control practices and HIPAA guidelines.
Deliver care in homes and licensed facilities.
Provide weekend or after-hours support as directed by supervisor.
